Competing gymnasts are: Nathan Gafuik of Calgary, (University of Calgary), Brandon O’Neill and Jackson Payne, both of Edmonton, (Capital City), Ken Ikeda of Abbotsford, B.C., (Twisters), Casey Sandy of Brampton, Ont., (Gymnastics Mississauga), and Kevin Lytwyn of Stoney Creek, Ont.  The reserve gymnast is Jayd Lukenchuk of Saskatoon.

The team competes on Monday on the second day of the men’s qualification round with the Canadians aiming to clinch a berth at the 2012 Olympics with a top eight finish.

“The team has looked sharp in training and is definitely in the mix to place in the top eight here,” says men's program director Jeff Thomson.

“We have a good blend of youth and experience and how they work together as a team will play a huge role in determining the outcome.”
