KAMLOOPS, BC – Western Canada Summer Games  wrapped up this past weekend with the MAG Alberta team finishing in Second place, while the WAG Alberta team placed Third.
For the Alberta men, Harland Hastings was the top Albertan placing 2^nd All- Around (71.050) including a Gold medal placing on Vault; Luke Stretch scored a 69.350 which tied him for 4^th  All-Around. Luke also topped the podium with a Gold medal on Rings. Carter Shelton followed with 6^th place All-Around and a first place finish on Floor. Other members of the Team included Brad Earl, Sean Mickelson, and Noah Stretch.  Coach Jason Woodnick was very pleased with the MAG Team placings.

Alberta Women placed 3^rd in the Team competition, with Vault being their top scoring event.  In the All- Around category, Miranda Rau was Alberta’s highest placing athlete at 5th, with an All-Around score of 52.450, followed closely by Paige Blaney in 6^th (52.000) and Tateum McPherson in 8^th (51.300).  Vault continued to be strong during the Event Finals, with Paige winning the Gold medal and Lauren Lavoie in 6^th place.  Bars saw two event finalists – Paige Blaney( 5^th ), Miranda Rau (8^th ).  Miranda Rau was also 4^th on Beam.   Tateum McPherson showed her strength on Floor with a Silver medal finish. Paige continued to shine placing fourth on Floor. Other members of the Team included Devon Earl, and Jordyn Sellin.  Team manager Tarina Oviatt thought“it was a great experience for the athletes to be able to get out and cheer on Alberta athletes in different sports, as well as meet athletes from all over Western Canada. Kamloops was an amazing place to host the event and they did a great job! “
