Senior Coach - Women's Artistic Gymnastics in Fort McMurray

The candidate must have a minimum Level 2 NCCP women’s artistic certification or higher.  Looking for minimum of 3-5 years of experience in competitive gymnastics. Our club is offering a salary range of $55,000 - $68,000 per year based on qualifications and years’ experience.  Norfort Gymnastics Association also pays a performance bonus which will be paid twice a year. A 40 hour per week schedule will mostly consist of mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.  Position based on a 40 per hour work week, training and developing different levels of our competitive team. Need to be familiar with concepts, procedures and women’s artistic gymnastics technical knowledge.  Candidates must be able to demonstrate they have coached and mentored gymnasts through a progression through competitive levels.

The candidate must have a minimum Level 3 NCCP women’s artistic certification or willing to obtain.  Norfort is looking for minimum of 3-5 years’ national level experience.  Bilingual is an asset (French/English) to meet the needs of our diverse community. Norfort offers competitive wages; dependent upon experience is $80,000-$95,000.  We offer a housing incentive to assist with the transition into our community as well as a performance bonus.  Position based on a 40 per hour work week, training and developing our national team, facilitating all competitive programs, management, mentorship and development of coaching staff.  Need to be familiar with concepts, procedures and women’s artistic gymnastics technical knowledge.  Candidates must be able to demonstrate they have coached and mentored gymnasts through a progression through National and Elite levels.

Women’s Artistic Permanent Full-Time Competitive Coach
The Marian Gymnastics Club is the oldest gymnastics club in Saskatchewan celebrating over 50 years of excellence. Marian is an organization that is run by a group of enthusiastic and experienced staff.

Marian is one the largest and most successful clubs in the province. Marian has been producing champions at the provincial, Western Canadian, and national levels for decades, and has produced high performance gymnasts since 1992, with many national team members.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic professional, with good organizational and interpersonal skills to join our team in Saskatoon as a permanent full-time women’s artistic gymnastics coach in Saskatoon.

Duties Include:

  • Coach female developmental and Junior Olympic level  5-8 athletes
  • Assist with Junior Olympic 9-10 athletes 
  • Director of Developmental Program
  • Assist in administration of the competitive program

 

Qualifications

  • Coach must have proven experience coaching athletes of developmental and provincial levels over a number of years
  • Background in dance or choreography an asset
  • Certified Level 3 NCCP in women’s artistic gymnastics, or be able to achieve within 12 months of employment
  • NCCP level 2 trampoline

Summer 2017. Temporary full-time.

We’re looking for coaches and strategic planners who are excited to join us in the learning and multi-tasking it takes to run our gymnastics club.

Your coaching experience can be in any of our club’s programs: Rec, T&T or Artistic. If you’re on the strategic side, you’re interested in the opportunities within our non-profit structure. Whatever your background, you believe that gymnastics is important and that inspiring gymnasts through awesome coaching makes a positive difference in the world.

Training to advance your skills is part of the package.

Your day will be divided between:

  • Coaching, research or planning.
  • Working with a senior staff mentor.
  • Creating amazing set-ups or digital/written content to tantalize participants.

Coaching will include opportunities in Early Learners, Freestyle, Aerial Arts and Cangym/Canjump levels 1-6. Other coaching may be part of the mix, for example: pre-comp, early comp or advanced rec.

Two positions are available:

Early Summer Staff

  • 30 hours per week. June 19 to August 19
  • Desired level of education: university or entering university in the Fall.

Late Summer Staff

  • 30 hours per week. July 1 to September 2
  • Desired level of education: high school or university/entering university in the Fall.

Hourly wages depend on your qualifications and experience.
