City of Edmonton's Salute to Excellence Awards recognize Trish Quinney and Alberta gymnasts

On November 26, 2018, the City of Edmonton hosted the Salute to Excellence Performance and Citation Awards Ceremony at City Hall. The Citation and Performance Awards honour citizens who have gained recognition in arts and culture, sport and community service. Among the award recipients was Trish Quinney of Phoenix Gymnastics who was honoured with a Citation Award for her significant service and inspiring impact in sports. Alberta Gymnastics Federation athletes were also honoured with Performance Awards in both the Individual Sports Performance and Team Awards categories for their competitive successes last year. Congratulations to all! 

Citation Award, Sports - Trish Quinney

"Trish Quinney is a champion gymnast who has worked tirelessly to grow gymnastics in Edmonton. Owner of the Phoenix Gymnastics Centre, she has coached nationally since 1992, and internationally since 1994. Active with the Alberta Gymnastics Federation and Gymnastics Canada since 1989, she is currently a national judge and National Coaching Certification Program course developer. As director of the 2000 and 2002 Trampoline & Tumbling World Cups, she provided many important opportunities for athletes and coaches. Quinney runs a recreational gymnastics program, which impacts more than 5000 athletes annually. Her outstanding coaching ability and rapport with athletes has impacted gymnasts both in Edmonton and on the world stage."
